Sifu

Sifu Marc Webster began his studies into East Asian philosophies in 1993 under 9th Degree Grandmaster Henry Sue in Southern Preying Mantis Shaolin Kung Fu. Also in 1993 he began studies at the Australian School of Eastern Medicine and Arts. Here he became proficient in Zen Shiatsu and Meridian Stretches. Marc studied his acupuncture at the Academy of Natural Therapies and also attended external courses on Japanese acupuncture, including a post graduate certificate in Dr. Yoshio Manaka’s Protocols, and seminars with Masakazu Ikeda Sensei ( a practitioner of 35 years experience ) and Kiiko Matsumoto ( the most famous female Japanese acupuncturist today ), and with the Toyo Hari Association.
1986 – 1988 Studied Shotokan Karate.
1993 – 1995 Studied Zen Shiatsu at the Australian School of Eastern Medicine and Arts.
1993 Started studying Southern Preying Mantis Shaolin Wushu.
1995 Started Traditional Chinese Lion Dancing.
1996 Achieved Tong Long disciple level – Blue belt level 1.
1996 – 1998 Advanced Diploma of Applied Science in acupu
ncture and moxibustion at the Academy of Natural Therapies.
1996 – 2002 Attended seminars on Classical acupuncture and moxibustion with Masakazu Ikeda Sensei from Japan.
1997 – 2002 Attended acupuncture and moxibustion study groups at the Institute of Classical Oriental Medicine.
1998 Started studying Yang Gar Tai Chi.
1998 Joined the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association ( AACMA ).
1998 Chinese Lion Dancing for the opening ceremony of the Asia Pacific Masters Games.
1999 – current Opened the Academy of Traditional East Asian Medicine.
1999 Postgraduate certificate in Dr Yoshio Manaka’s acupuncture and moxibustion protocols.
1999 Chinese Lion Dancing for the opening ceremony of the Asia Pacific Masters Games.
2000 – current Started teaching acupuncture and moxibustion at the Academy of Natural Therapies.
2000 – current Started teaching shiatsu at Massage Schools of Queensland.
2000 Chinese Lion Dancing at the Sydney Olympics Torch relay at the Southport Broadwater.
2001 Chinese Lion Dancing in Townsville for the Australia vs. China fireworks competition.
2002 Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine through Victoria University of Technology.
2002 Specialised acupuncture and moxibustion training through the Toyo Hari Association of Japan.
2002 Postgraduate certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine through Cathay Herbal Laboratories.
2002 Achieved Master Level – First Degree Red Sash in Southern Preying Mantis Shaolin Wushu.
2002 Performed Tong Long Kung Fu for the Head Abbott and the monks at the Shaolin Temple in Henan Province, China. Climbed Song Shan Mountain to visit Da Mo’s cave where he meditated for 9 years.
2003 Opened the Mudgeeraba branch of the Chinese Kung Fu Academy under the direct affiliation of Henry Sue.
2004 Lecturing for Victoria University of Technology, Gold Coast Campus.
2005-06 Masters of Acupuncture, University of Western Sydney.
2006 Graded to Second Degree Red Sash in Tong Long Kung Fu.
2007 Intensive training in Brisbane with 31st generation Warrior Monk, Shi De Yang, from the Shaolin Temple, China.
2008 Invited to teach Tai Chi, Qigong, and Chinese Medicine to the guests and staff of the Marriott Hotel and Spa, Bangkok, Thailand.
2008 Completed 12 Cycles Qigong Training with Master Zhao, Chatswood and Coledale.
2008 Completed Advanced 12 Cycles Qigong Training with Master Zhao, Chatswood, Sydney and Thirroul, South of Sydney.
2009 Trained with Professor Wu Dong from Beijing Sports University. Learned Bagua Zhang Qigong, Circle Walking Basics, and Bagua Sword warm ups and a Sword Form.
2009 Graded to 3rd Degree Red Sash, before Sigung, Dai Sihing, Yi Sihing, and Sarm Sihing. 3 other Gold Coast Masters also grade to same level.
2010 A.-T.E.A.M. Clinic photos featured on The Doctors TV program in the U.S. The program was about alternative medicine and used cupping photos from Marc’s lecturing protfolio.
2010 A.-T.E.A.M. Clinic photos featured in CNN magazine article on therapies for relaxation. Manaka Hammer and Needle photos from Marc’s lecturing portfolio were featured in this article.
2010 Trained for 8 days in Brisbane with Master Wang Tong, Xing Yi Quan and Bagua Zhang Master from Beijing.
2010 Graded to 4th Degree Red Sash with 6 other Masters in front of Sigung and Dai Sihing Greg.
