After the close of our standard training regime, there will be 4 lion training sessions to begin our preparations for Chinese New Year 2012.

Everyone! is invited to attend. We need many people to make up 3 or 4 full teams. This includes 2 lions, drum. cymbal, and gong players, monks, flag bearers, and support people in each team. These events are a great experience and can lead to a more solid foundation in your Kung Fu and Tai Chi. The Lion Dances, Kung Fu and Tai Chi all require rhythm, powerful legs, grace, short ging, flexibility, stamina, core strength, and confidence.

All lion dancers, monks, and musicians need to attend as many of these classes as possible. Lion teams need to be finalised and training together consistently between now and the 21st of January.

Classes will be on Monday and Wednesday 6pm to 8pm, and Tuesday and Thursday 7.15pm to 8.30pm. Cost is only $10 for all 4 sessions to cover hall hire.

In China it is said ‘man is born soft and supple, but dies stiff and hard’, and ‘flexibility is life, stiffness is death’. Therefore in this class we will utilise methods from Japanese Sotai, Chinese Dao Yin, Indian Yoga, and Western stretching regimes to improve your posture, flexibility, and whole body range of motion. This leads to better and prolonged health.

We will introduce props to enhance the outcomes as well as teach you how to give self massage using these props.

This class is designed for the everyday person who seeks more freedom of movement and less pain from stiffness and inflexibility. How to use your breathing to improve structural integrity and to increase your relaxation during stretching is a vital part of what we will teach you.
